Balwen Welsh Mountain sheep, as a breed, are considered “At Risk” by the RBST, and we usually have Balwen sheep for sale.

The name Balwen in welsh means “white blaze” ~ see photos of my flock!  They have four white socks, black noses, and a partially white tail. Their tail is left long and is not docked.

These are tough mountain sheep.

Balwens lamb easily and are good mothers.  We have found that they can become very tame, are long lived.  They have a “joy of living” and will jump for joy and play even in old age.
